Working for the Banff and Lake Louise Tourism Board
Canada is one of my favourite places for photography and I had the most superb opportunity to travel to Banff National Park this winter to capture the wonderland of ‘The Rockies’, just as the first snowflakes started to fall.
With my base in Banff, I spent the days hiking out over frozen lakes, through snow covered canyons, visiting ski resorts and discovering picture book cabins, all in -30 degree conditions. Surrounded by that much beauty even the cold couldn’t dampen my spirits, or stop me whipping off my gloves to navigate camera settings, although it did make me work that little bit faster!
I was afforded many incredible opportunities by the lovely people at Banff and Lake Louise Tourism, the highlight of which was a last sunset witnessed from the summit of Sulphur Mountain. I watched the sun set over Banff town and the surrounding mountains with the bitter sweet knowledge that in a mere few hours I would be leaving this magical place and returning to reality. Working for Banff and Lake Louise Tourism was one of those special assignments that I will certainly remember and treasure forever.
I am hugely grateful to Banff and Lake Louise Tourism Board for this wonderful experience and can’t wait to hurry back for a summer season shoot!
